So my boyfriend returned from an apparently shitty day at work (only recently having gone back since his illness) and instantly turned on the Xbox. I grabbed the second controller and we jumped into some 1 on 1 action. (Him not showering and being hot close to me is like injecting a quart of his pheromones into my bloodstream, making my attention jumpy — but that’s for another blog.)
The games didn’t last long… While he is an excellent gamer (WoW pvp, racing games, sports games), I’m a bit better sometimes. I’m discovering that when I find a game I like, PC or console as well it seems, I manage to learn quick and push myself. No, I’m not excellent by any means in our current gaming choices (the Halo series), but I’m good. Today, that turned him into Mr. Grumpy and he didn’t pay much mind to me for most of the day. SADFACE! But that’s OK ’cause I fucking pwnt his ass hard. rawr
I need to branch out and find more games to like. If you know me, then you know how goddamn picky I am. With everything. Everything!
So, I’ve compiled a list based on pictures and reviews from random intarwebz places, mainly EBGames. Which are worthwhile and which aren’t? If you know me, will I like any of these? ADVICE PLX!
Halo Wars
Terminator Salvation
Red Faction Guerrilla
Left 4 Dead (I think it looks like shit but several people swear its fun…)
Call of Duty 4 (Noticing the shooter theme?)
Ghostbusters (Dood. SRSLY.)
Fallout 3
and honestly, because of the hype, maybe even Guitar Hero… despite it making me want to vomit.
Oh, and I still have Halo 2 to play and Gears of War 2 (whenever it arrives from the mail & if I like it).
A plus to having more options is my boyfriend will have more to do when I’m away (I go on vacation for several weeks soonish). [Take note of this if you know my Xbox name. I plan on having him use it whenever he's online and to update our gaming achievements or whatever.]

I have Halo Wars and I find it just fucking great. But them again I’m a huge fucking RTS fan, have been ever since I was very very tiny. So I say try it. Other than that I have heard and seen lots of cool things from L4D and F3, So I’ll recommend both those as well. I don’t have any opinion on the rest.
But I’m gonna suggest one more to you!!!
Dead Space.

Oh and also, I don’t really recommend Guitar Hero unless you plan on playing it with 2+ people, playing solo is ok sometimes but srsly, it’s just plain boring.
It’s a great social game, not a solo game.
P.S.
I say Rock band > Guitar Hero.
