We were the only one’s with mics enabled, I think. At the end of the game, and after him not believing how good he is… I flatly told him “OK..” “OK…” “OK…” to his disapproval.
“Stupid fucking cunt, bring it on! You fucking suck anyways!” And apparently wanted me to do another game with him (by checkmarking something…uh…).

AHHHHHH THE KIDDIES! I took a shower instead of playing any more. Two different games was my limit.

There are no girls in World of Warcraft.

I happened to be fucking badass in World of Warcraft. Don’t believe me? I can provide references across three realms! Seriously…
But, alas, I quit my online gaming.

Reasons:
Blizzard made World of Warcraft truly suck from November ‘08 onward.
I wanted to be more of a housewife with my time at home.
I wanted less stress from idiots (and there are plenty in WoW).
I was simply bored with the game.

Am I happy with the decision? Yes and No. The extra time with my fiance has certainly brought us closer, so that’s a plus. The extra time alone when my fiance is away makes me restless, which causes me to crave gaming.

The extra time means I am able to check off salaries, safeties, appraisals of an endless variety, etc. all no less than a week in advance. That means the only actual work I have to do is attend semiweekly meetings…which I can do in my underwear…as long as I have a shirt on. (Hooray for Cisco’s virtual meetings!) This means I have even more time to be bored when alone.

So what’s a gamer-girl-without-a-game to do? Why she watches a gamer reality television show, of course!

By far one of the coolest reality television series I’ve seen. Not just because it has video games in; because it has a bunch of cutthroat twenty-something nerds in it! (A couple 30+ as well!)

While the end is nigh, the finale is on Tuesday, I still find good fun in watching past episodes. The contestants are down to the final 3 (two if you DVR’d the last episode and caught the slip up… which was fixed when published online). Here’s the three:

Jamal (Zophar321 is his gamer handle) is the ultimate in nerd. Super cocky about his gaming “skills” and an ego the size of Manhattan. The only reason he made it to the top 3 is because he wasn’t a threat for so long (so no need to eliminate him) and when he had to face off in 1 on 1 competitions, he’s gotten lucky in a game he sucked at and in another he had help from “the best” in the chosen style. Heck, even in a fun non-competition match of his forte, he barely won against someone who simply sucked (it was a fighting game). Hell, he’s never even had any serious accomplishments in the gaming industry unlike all the other contestants.

Mark (applesauce is his gamer handle) comes across as a very down-to-earth guy who proves his value in his own forte …and is really hot. He made it to the top 3 by being damned good. His gaming accomplishment: “PC Extreme LAN tournament win.” Whatever that means…

Robert (Prod1gy X is his gamer handle) is the ultra-hot, ass-kickin’, emo gamer. Did I mention how pretty he is? Fuck yeah. I still remember how badly he sucked in the first episode to everyone’s surprise. In the 1 on 1 he reminded everyone that, yes, he’s a fucking badass. His gaming accomplishments: “Ten tournament wins, four world records.” He’s only 22. And did I mention he’s hot?

Here’s the rest of the contestants in order of last to leave the show to first:

Adande (sWooZie) was eliminated for having the lowest kills after a 9 hour Halo3 session (which had some crazy handicaps). He’s hot and badass. Accomplishments: “National Dead or Alive 4 champion.”

Amy (Athena) — Look! A female gamer! She was eliminated after scoring the lowest points in a Guitar Hero + Rock Band competition (they had to play guitar while simultaneously playing drums with their feet…). Accomplishments: “2005 CPL (Cyberathelete Pro League) champion.”

Chelsea (Delicate [<3]) — Another gamer girl!? Unbelievable! *eyeroll* She was cut after coming in last place in Project Gothem Racing 4 (played while suspended upside down). Accomplishments: “PMS Clan Quake 4 tournament representative.”

Ciji (StarSlay3r) — What is this?! Another chick?! Ciji was eliminated after being beaten by Mark (applesauce), her in-house close friend-turned-enemy, in NBA Live ‘09. Accomplishments: “Guitar Hero 1, 2 & 3 tournament wins.”

Dante (DevilsAlastar) was booted from the show after losing to Jamal (with Mark’s assistance) in a Halo 3 match. Accomplishments: “Competed in Counter-Strike and Metal Gear Solid tournaments.”

Geoff (INcontroL) was eliminated after clumsily losing to Adande in Dance Dance Revolution Universe 3. Accomplishments: “Former national StarCraft champion.”

Alyson (Nin9tyNin9) — Could it be?! Yet another girl?! Alyson was eliminated after a second of bad luck in Project Gothem Racing 4. Accomplishments: “2006 Rainbow Six Vegas 2 CPL tournament win.”

Kelly (MrsViolence) — Boobies and skills at video games = another gamer girl! Kelly lost to Amy in a 1 on 1 Virtual Fighter 5 session, thus eliminating her from the show. Accomplishments: “Three Halo 2 tournament wins.”

JD (KosherHamm)… His elimination proved to the other contestants that the actual last place person, Robert, is not to be reckoned with. JD lost to last-place Robert, horribly, in Rock Band 2. Accomplishments: “Madden fraternity tournament champion.”

The show is actually really cool. It’s unfortunate a female didn’t make it to the finale; as mentioned on the show before, the girls certainly proved their worth by competing so hard and fiercely for so long.

From watching the show, I decided that my gaming hobby needn’t suffer any longer… My fiance and I soon made a couple purchases for our Playstation3: Killzone 2 and Virtua Fighter 5. Killzone 2 because Halo is only for Xbox, which we don’t own. I suck horribly at the fighting game. After quite some time of playing the shooter, however, I’m getting better and see myself excelling at it soon enough. That means I’ll no doubt be checking out other shooters, possibly purchasing an Xbox360 for Halo 3, and most likely taking the gaming online! BOOYAH!
Earlier, he bought me two cheapies just to try out different genres: racing (man, I suck at it) and basketball (which I’m pretty good at!).

Yeah, the gaming continues despite it going from PC to console.

I’d say RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! but I guess you can’t ’cause it’s these dudes’ planet or some shit. Whatever. I don’t know what the hell is going on as I’ve never seen the first game (or the in-between game called something other than Killzone 1 or 2).

Killzone 2.
We bought it this morning. Jack wanted it. And since I heard it was a shooter, I wanted it. It’s the first game purchased for my Playstation3. Cool, eh? You’re fucking right it is!

Shootin’ up Nazi-motherfuckers is brilliant fun! I suck at it, but I’m getting better. It’s tough to get used to a controller after using a keyboard for so many years. But in time, those Helgast bitches will learn to fear me!

Seriously, though, it’s a really cool game.

Let’s do some napkin math, shall we? In a 25-man, let’s assume we have 7 melee DPS. Now lets assume we are on a ft like KT, with approximately 10% running time with no run speed ench, and let’s also assume a personal sustained DPS of all melee to be 4k. These are all fair numbers from what we have seen on beta, shifted slightly to make the math easier to follow. Now, without any runspeed ench, we could expect each individual member to do:
4000 * (1-.1) = 3600 DPS, and combined: 3600 * 7 = 25200
Now, if we increase running speed by 15%, we increase the (1-.1) = .9 multiplier to 1-.087 = .913. Re-doing this:
4000 * .913 = 3652 DPS, and combined: 3652 * 7 = 25564
Or a net raid DPS increase on this ft of 364. This is also just purely the DPS benefit from a running ft. This doesn’t factor in the ability to hit your WHOLE raid with a 15% boost on fts like Heigan to make it easier (while it’s not needed to have this speed boost on Heigen, it certainly helps, especially with the achievement where no one can die this bursts). Also, you will most likely be near to the tanks at all times, and allowing the tanks to grab targets more easily is extremely helpful.
